After numerous rumours and an early leak of the Office of Budget Responsibility’s report on their findings, Rachel Reeves has finally delivered her 2025 Budget.

The Budget delivered a broad package of tax and cost changes – with a pledge to make Britain “the best place to set-up, start-up, and stay”. However, changes to the tax rate on dividend income, increases to the cost of employment and a number of changes to reduce tax efficiency (e.g. NI on salary sacrifice pensions) feel contradictory to the message.

Download our Autumn Budget Summary Report for a full round-up of the announcements and how they might impact you and your business (as announced on Wednesday 26 November).

Commenting on the Budget announcement, Amie Wilson, Operations Director said: “This Budget clearly signals rising tax and employment costs across the board. SMEs will feel the squeeze as dividend taxation tightens, NI advantages diminish and wage pressures increase. Smart planning is no longer optional – it’s a necessity”
