Companies House fee increases as of 1 February 2026

Nov 11, 2025 | Tax Tuesday

From 1 February 2026, a number of Companies House fees are set to increase. For many businesses, the Companies House fee increases may seem like just another administrative cost, but they reflect a broader shift in how Companies House is challenging fraud and improving transparency under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act.

What’s changing?

Two of the most common fees for UK companies are increasing significantly:

  • Confirmation Statement (digital filing): rising from £34 to £50
  • Incorporation (digital filing): doubling from £50 to £100

Other services are also affected, with price increases across both digital and paper-based filings. You can view the full list of fee changes on the Companies House website.

Why the increase?

The changes are part of a wider strategy to strengthen the UK’s corporate register, enhance compliance standards, and prevent economic crime.

The extra revenue from these fee increases will support:

  • Cleaner registers: Companies House now has enhanced powers to query, reject, and remove inaccurate or potentially fraudulent information from the register. This should improve the integrity of data available to the public.
  • Stronger enforcement: There will be a more robust approach to enforcement, including better checks at the point of incorporation and greater scrutiny of filings.
  • Greater confidence: These changes aim to build trust and transparency in the UK business environment, giving legitimate businesses more confidence when dealing with suppliers, clients, and partners.

What should business owners do?

While the fee increases themselves may not seem significant in isolation, they form part of a broader tightening of corporate compliance. Business owners should:

  • ensure confirmation statements and other filings are submitted on time and with accurate information.
  • review company records and registers regularly to ensure they are up to date
  • be aware that Companies House will now be actively scrutinising filings, not just recording them

If you’re planning to incorporate a new business, consider doing so before February 2026 to take advantage of the lower fees.
