about us :: our history

Originally established in 1878, Harold Sharp Chartered Accountants has earned a reputation as one of the leading independent accountancy firms in South Manchester.

For 130 years we’ve provided audit, accounting and taxation advice to businesses and their owners. In this time, we’ve helped our clients make a successful transition from start-up to growing enterprise.

From the beginning, the practice developed its client base based upon traditional ethics of high quality accounting services, proactive business advice and exceptional client service, delivered by experts in all aspects of accounting and business management.

Today, we have five partners including Harold Sharp’s grand-daughter, and 45 staff, working with over 1000 clients ranging from owner-managed SME businesses and fast-growth entrepreneurial ventures to national and multinational companies, across all industries.

Acting as a trusted adviser to our clients, we provide advice and services that help them make informed, confident decisions that ultimately increase the value of their business. Through our sister company Harold Sharp Financial Limited we also provide financial services, based upon tailored advice to meet each client’s individual needs.
